Hi we are planning our first trip to France and wondered if anyone can help with the minefield of campsites .....we have two 10 year olds so want somewhere near a beach with on site activities , we were thinking of the calvados region but open to suggestions

What about Camping Le Cormoran - at St Mere Eglise, which has indoor and outdoor pools, direct beach access, and a programme of activities.  It's near to the landing beaches, and there is plenty to do in the whole area.

We went to Cote de Nacre at St Aubin sur Mer at Easter. Although it was off-peak and we stayed in a static my 10 year old loved it. We plan on returning at some point with our trailer tent.
It has indoor and outdoor pools, play area, sports area and kids club. Unfortunately it doesn't have direct beach access but it is not far. It's close to Bayeaux - a theme park and the tapestry of course!

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the site very well kept. The touring pitches were enticing - we chose our spot for our return. The touring facilities were relatively new.
