hi all

Last year we discovered Indigo camping. Lovely natural campsite, with a few activities available in most friendly and laid back way. We were cycling distance from a warm water swimming lake.

Looking for something of a similar nature but all of the Indigo sites are a longer drive than we are wanting to make this year.

If anyone knows of anything similar 4ish hours from Calais, (possibly champagne region) we'd love to hear of it.

Also, does any other company use the Cabannon tents, on wooden deck ?? thanks again.

Have you looked at huttopia - they seem to have links with indigo? Not stayed with then though. Enjoyed a week at indigo in Noirmoutier - prob a bit far for you though.

Huttopia at Senonches - which is perhaps just a bit further than your four hours, but in the Parc Naturel of the Perche - rolling hills, pretty countryside, and a village/sports complex in walking distance.  There are pitches on 'La Prairie' and in La Foret.

Or Huttopia at Rambouillet - same principles, in the Foret de Rambouillet.

I imagine both sites will have the wooden decked tents.  We've seen them on many more campsites this year - even the municipal site at Figeac in the Lot!

Just wondering if you can find a warm swimming lake within 4 hours of Calais?

Both the Huttopia sites have 'natural' swimming pools, ie kept in swimmable condition by natural means rather than chemicals.  Whilst this does mean that occasionally they are out of action if the natural bacteria get out of kilter, it does mean that they feel more like swimming in a lake.  The Huttopia at Senonches has a lovely lake (not sure whether it's used for swimming) but the bar/terrace is over the lake itself outside the lovely restaurant.

thanks guys. I'll take a look at Huttopia. The lake was just a bonus (and the water was warm 6hrs down ?!), it was the general atmosphere they did so well.

I've seen those canvas on deck tents other places as well, but they're hard to find when you're trying to think of places.
