Anyone done this who can advise???

I would like to HIRE in Boston, DROP OFF in Orlando (so do the East Coast)
Is there an equivalent of the Camping and Caravanning CLub in the USA? Assume you can't just pull up in a layby and set up camp for the night !!!!!

Can anyone recommend (NOT recommend) any companies for this???

I have a million and one questions, but that is a starter!!!

THANK YOU!

Sally

This is a link you need http://koa.com/

We used their members brochure and had many happy campground experiences in the US.

We did it in Canada booked through Caravan and Camping Club. (Very good and helpful. If you are a member give them a call)

Our RV came from Cruise Canada, they also do them in the USA, (Cruise America!) They are a very big company.

We had unlimited mileage, but some rentals give a mileage allowance, with a fee for extra miles (its Km in Canada).

Our 25' RV had a 6 litre petrol engine and did 10-15mpg. Fuel was about 89p a litre. Its cheaper in the USA though.

We had a great time. Some of the campgrounds in Canada are KOA too.

I suspect hiring in Boston and dropping off in Florida could result in quite a big one way surcharge!

We picked up in Vancouver and dropped in Calgary, there was a fee but not too big!

We saw some cruise America RVs in Canada with Florida plates-that's a big drive, but would love to do it.

We did it for 6 months in 2000, and did a circular trip starting and finishing in Atlanta. The KOA sites we saw (but didn't stay on) tended to be regimental and full of straights rows of RV's. Instead we used National Parks, State Parks, National Forests etc, all who have good campgrounds and generally with hook-ups. If you want any info, e-mail me and I'll try to be a bit more specific (fletcher.kevin203 at gmail.com).
