Try www.transeuropaferries.co.uk if you're going east (they run to Belgium).

And yes, I do work for them but that doesn't mean you can't get a good deal (not as cheap as some of the special offers while you can still get them though)

Nice thought mate.

Can you do any discounts from Scotland to Northern Ireland, Liverpool to Northern Ireland, or do you have any thoughts on the high price that peeps have to pay for crossing on the shortest dearest route out in Europe ??????????????

Just had a look at the website. Must say I like the simple pricing structure which is easy to understand. My only problem is the crossing time, 4 hours and the fact that you end up in Belgium. Fine if you are going the Holland, Germany, Austria and Italy in fact you might recoup some of the time compared to Dover/Calais. Not quite so good for some parts of France. It does seem to me that with all these new crossings that the prices on the Eastern Channel crossings will stay competitive.

David

Fair comment about the crossing duration David & you're right if you travel west from Calais. We only really target Holland and east, or Austria and south, but it's about the same distance if you down the eastern side of France. We carry a lot of Italian freight for example, and you can rely on a haulage company to know the most cost effective route.

A few other points:

a) You'd be avoiding the congestion at Dover & Calais as we're the only operator in Ramsgate and the only passenger operator in Ostend

b) You don't have to travel at some awful time of day to get our caravan / motorhome prices because we actually want you to travel during the morning and at weekends (when freight traffic is quiet)

c) You get a nice relaxed crossing, with cheap food (£7 for a 3 course meal at the moment) and crew who still have a service mentality (our crew live on board so you're effectively sitting in their living room)

Unfortunately we don't have any plans to run across the Irish sea - we're a Belgian company & I don't think Ostend to Belfast would be very competitive!

we're a Belgian company

Hope you did not think my comments rude!! It is only a distance thing. We have had a couple of nice stays in Belgium and in time we will return.

no problem David - I don't get upset that easily.

Come and try us if you go to Belgium again
