I wonder if anyone can tell me which beaches are best in this region. I have heard that some of them have strong currents. Also does anyone know if any of the beaches hire out sunbeds/loungers and umbrellas in this region?
Thanks
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
All the beaches around there are nice, they can have quite choppy waves though, but nothing like the south west coast. It will very much depend on the weather, but we have never had problems going in the sea and have gone to that area since my children were small.
Never seen sunbeds for hire, the french dont really bother, they either use towels or low beach chairs which you can get in Tesco for around £6, but they do all use umbrellas. Again, never seen for hire but are available at all the French Supermarkets, although we always take our own. They also tend to use pop up beach tents such as the Quecha one from Decathlon.
This summer will be our 4th return to the area (although as a child we went many times too). We like the beach at Les Marines and the area just south of here where the beach becomes less busy. As the previous poster said, it's not really sun lounger territory. Most people have either a wind break, a beach tent, an umbrella or combination of all 3.
we always use the beach at sion sur l'ocean. has a lifeguard throughout the summer, very close to small village for snacks and drinks, free parking etc
