We r leaving Monday morning, 2 adults and 3 kids, down to Dover over on the ferry, down to just outside Paris. Can't wait!, It's such an adventure to go by car, much more exciting than flying. Got my fantastic tent with new porch and can just do what we want!! This is what I remember best from my childhood, hopefully it will be for my kids too.

Hope you all have a wonderful time, we first went to France in 2006 and have gone every year since. Although I am the only driver I prefer driving to France and Spain than flying as you miss so much. One of our most favourites stopoffs is at Millau for a capucin (our daughter insists we stopped there even before we set off)

We are just getting everything sorted ready to go on Wednesday to the Mosel Valley for a week or so. Very much looking forward to it. Not been in germany for over 20 years.
Thanks everyone, that's us all packed to go. Forcast looks great. Enjoy your trip Magnolia, diannebb72, my hubby is the only driver also and I think paris is as far as we would go, I was dreading the journey with the kids last year but it was easy.
Stayed on a campsite North of Rheims last year - very good with a main line station in the village to take us everywhere we wanted. Dead easy to get to - only about 2.5 hours from Calais.
