In a rent-a-tent the safe above is probably about as safe as you'll get and could be hooked around the tubular metal legs of the bed and then tucked out of the way under the mattress. Generally, though, you'll find most campsites are safe places to leave most things - though obviously not out on show. Don't get paranoid - a rent a tent is no more likely to get 'broken into' than your own tent and at least all the equipment will belong to someone else so doesn't need to be worried about! Enjoy your holiday without fear!
We'll be staying in a 'Rent-a-tent' in Croatia next year, courtesy of Roan holidays, for just £106 for two weeks in May/June - but I doubt I'll spend my time thinking about security.
