Technically the speed limit in France with a VW Touran will be 90kph There has been much debate about towing speeds in France - peculiarly, if you had a smaller car (eg a vw golf) the towing speed limit would be 130kph - no I have not made a mistake here. It appears that if you are towing a small trailer with a normal car then the police are not enforcing the lower limit. The revised limits were put in place 3 years ago to combat vans towing large trailers at high speed, however, the way that it was put in place, it also included and large family cars towing small trailers. My advise would be to drive at the same speed as other people towing small trailers. Personally I see no problem towing an ERDE 122 at 70mph
