Morning guys - I was wondering whether you could give me your recommendations. We are travelling through Italy and need a good easy to use campsite guide. We normally go for the small and natural type of campsites where we can turn up on spec.
Thanks in advance.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Alan rogers guide to italy is still available second hand from Amazon,.it does include some of the less commercial sites, ive used it and found some good sites but it is typical alan rogers,80/90% all singing/ dancing combos that could be anywhere in europe.
My favourite by far is Roma Flash. This is by Lake Brocciano and a truly rustic Italian campsite. It is definitely in the Caravan Club books (don't let the name put you off!) There is a bus every 20 minutes into local town which connects to the main train line and 20 mins and you are in the centre of Rome! Excellent site.
Small non commercial sites are few and far between in all the parts of Italy we've been to. It aint a bit like France where those sites are thick on the ground. Italy is a whole different ball game, and camping/caravanning there is a culture shock for many people. But try hunting for Agriturismo farm sites on all the websites you can find if you really want small and non commercial.
