Can anyone recommend any sites in Tuscany? We would prefer to be inland away from the coastal resorts. My hubby likes to be within walking distance of somewhere to eat if possible and I like to be in the middle of lovely countryside. Someone mentioned that Siena and Lucca were really old and interesting places to visit.
We plan to spend a few weeks there in September with our motorhome and dog. We followed a lot of your recommendations in the Pyrenees last year and had a lovely holiday.
We would appreciate fedback from those of you who have done Tuscany recently.

We were there last year.
You'll see reviews of the two we used in Tuscany.
The Sovicelli one is excellent ... Sienna's was not to our taste.
We 'did' Florence, Sienna, San G, Pisa et al from the one base ... was excellent ... all hard standings (i.e. gravel cover) ... but not a problem at all ... good sized pitches!
Lovely photo Kelper - it shows that Italian campsites can have really large pitches, contrary to the stereotypical idea. We've stayed at Toscana Village, Montopoli, which was a good site and very centrally placed for visiting Florence, Lucca, Siena etc. However this was a few years ago and I don't know what it's like nowadays.

Nice site, very clean. You can walk in to town but it is up hill, down hill though when you've a nice meal and a few glasses of Chianti in one of many restaurants!
Very clean and the staff were excellent. As we were there in April the pool was still closed. some fabulous views from the edge of the site.
We chose it because of location, we visited Siena, Florence, Pisa, Lucca and San Gimignano.

We stayed at La balze 2 nights ago.. Its high season so that may be partly to blame.. But it was rammed.. They just ask you to squeeze in wherever you can.. Pitches on pitches.. The showers were minging and it cost 51 euros for 1 night for our van which we ended up parking by the Gate.. Never again
We are now at Torre Pendente in Pisa.. What a great site. Large pitches great staff. A nice pool.. 800m from the tower.
Cant fault it really

Clearly not a summertime site then. We paid just under €22 when we stayed.
