Hi, we are thinking of taking our camper van to Portugal.
We have never been to Portugal before and we are wondering whereabouts to go. We do not want to drive down to the Algarve.
Can anyone suggest campsites near to the beach in the north of Portugal or in the middle.
We hope to start out on the 1st september.
We also need suggestions for overnight stops in spain on the way to Portugal, we will be driving from Bordeaux, to San Sebastian, Bilbao.

May I suggest you have a look on Amazon (or similar) and look for 'Caravan Europe 1'published in 2011 (this is important, see below) which is a book published by the Caravan Club.
The book is full of recommendations (and otherwise???) written by their members for the countries of France, Spain, Portugal and Andorra.
It will give you an indication of opening times, cost and facilities. Even a brand new copy will be slightly out of date but one that is a year or two will still have relatively valid comments.
From the edition published in 2012 The Caravan Club sub divided the book so that only included France and Andorra so be careful that the book you look at covers Portugal. There will be another book published by The Caravan Club from 2012 that does cover Portugal and Spain
