After falling in love with France this year we're definitely going Bach next year.
Can't decide where though! Much as I'd love to see all the war memorials of Normandy I worry that unless we get another summer like the one we've had this year it will be chilly and damp...
Or go further South for the sun? Really can't decide...
------------- Camping with three kids who have Autism... Never a dull moment!

Yes, you might be lucky, you might not. Loire you've got a better chance of sun but it's not a definite. Both times we've camped for a week in Normandy we were lucky with the weather, a couple of overnights we've done there we were unlucky.
Generally the Loire should be a better bet.
And it offers so much more .... if the weather is bad you have all those glorious chateaux to explore.
I'd go Loire every time.

We've been to the Normandy area quite a few times, first time we went we got sunburn (end of August beginning of September) another year we went and got rain for a week (August). We then drove to Spain last year and still got a day or two of rain. There's just no way of knowing what the weather is gonna do, so either you don't book and follow the sun or go where you want and enjoy it no matter what the weather does.

woohoo! all this talk of Normandy and all points south is very exciting! we are off to the D-Day beaches next week, and hope to carry on down to the Limousin (in fact the only bit we've booked is a site there)......
Can i ask a question tho - we havent done anything about camping cheques...are we likely to need them? and if so, where can i get some at short notice??
