Has anyone caught the Ferry in December to Santander that arrives at 5.30pm, if so where do you stop overnight. We are going to Barcelona, although not sure what site as yet.

If you were arriving into Bilbao you could stay on the docks overnight but not in Santander. There is a site at Burgos that people use and you could get there in an hour or so but if you are heading for Barcelona then it's a bit out of your way. You may already know this but unless you have a need to go to Barcelona it's not the warmest place in Spain in Winter. Most people head south to below Valencia at least.

There is a site we stay at in Haro which is about a hour from Bilbao. Good over nighter or to stay for a few days. You can walk into the town in 5 mins and it is on the way South. We have used it on the way to Benidorm.

The site at Burgos is a bit to far to go. We spoke to a lot of people whilst we were in France who have been to Barcelona. They all recommended it, the trouble is they all drove through France.
I realise it is not going to be the hottest place in Spain but it is really as far down as we want to go. If we like it then next year we may decide to go further down.

Unfortunately this site is a bit to far to go.
