We have never bothered with electricity before but have booked it for our trip next week. We have a cable, which has 2 pins and an Earth pin. Just checked our campsite (France) and it says it has standard 2 pin. Have we got the wrong cable then? Or will there simply be a hole for the Earth pin?

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
I sent the campsite we are off to a link (to Go Outdoors) to the cable we have and asked if it was suitable! I received a prompt reply. May be worth doing?!
As French campsites have either the standard 3 pin plug or the continental 2 pin type its always worth having a convertor. All English cables are the standard 3 pin type so all you need is the convertor which is only about 300mm long with a 2 pin continental and a 3 pin which fits into the standard English plug unit. I never take mine out of the boot of the car as it doesn't take up any room and its there for future trips. I think they are only about £6 from Amazon or camping shops and well worth having.
