Heading south and using the A28/A29/A151 route around Rouen at 4pm on a Friday afternoon we passed a 3 kilometre queue for the peage where the A29 meets the A28. Will have to rethink our journey home methinks. Perhaps have a look at Val A's suggested route east of Rouen.

I hope it's easier going the way we usually do, via the D6015 - as we'll be there next week!

Could have been a combination of Friday commuter traffic from Rouen plus traffic heading for the A28 from Le Havre as well as holiday traffic but I have never seen queues at the peage like that before. Will definitely look at going east of Rouen when we head north from the Loire in 2 weeks time which will be Saturday afternoon around 4pm. Never done your suggested route before val, but will take a good look at it before we head back.

I hope it's OK - it always has been when we've been that way.  There was perhaps a little more traffic than normal, but no hold-ups at all.

We drove from Calais to Bordeaux today (without the caravan) and took the route suggested in previous posts going via Yveotet and Pont Brotonne thereby avoiding Rouen. We didn't have a single hold up and found it much easier than the usual Dreux/Evreux route. We will definitely use this route in the future.

We went round Rouen yesterday (17th) as well, heading northbound.

We were coming up the A28 from Le Mans direction and followed the 'deviation' route (due to roadworks)as soon as we saw the sign, however the signs quickly disappeared!! Later though we did refind some signs saying follow the A150 for Dieppe (briefly).

Goodness knows exactly where we were but we were virtually in the centre and saw many 'ros bifs' also navigating their way round.

If anyone else was there yesterday and saw a F reg VW camper high top that was us!!

When we rejoined the N28 (A28) just north east of Rouen the traffic the other way was queuing for miles.

When we came back from Saumur last weekend, we followed the A28 to Rouen, picked up A13 and came off at Junc 21, following D7 then D6015. It flowed freely.

Have used D6015 for a few years but generally come home approaching from A154 and having a van in tow. But as we were the other side of the Loire and vanless, thought we'd come back A28, pleasantly surprised at how easy it was.

Last year coming back from Normandy we thought we would follow the N138 as it looked a doddle on the map....wrong! We too had a scenic tour of Rouen North!
