We've spent the odd night in France in winter and even on the Mediterranean coast it was pretty cold!  Also, there aren't many sites that stay open all year, and those that do stay open don't have everything up and running, eg bars. restaurants, shops.

In Spain, there's a huge choice of sites and some have a wide range of facilities and entertainment.  Oxter paints a rather discouraging picture, but he's right in saying you have to pick your site with care, and it very much depends on what you like/dislike.  We don't like tarmac, quiz nights, bingo and wall-to-wall Brits with big satellite dishes, but some people enjoy that, and why shouldn't they, we're all different.

We have found several sites which have good facilities, a range of nationalities and are fairly low-key. These include Ribamar, near Alcossebre on the coast north of Valencia; Las Madriles in Isla Plana, Murcia; and Los Escullos near San Jose in the Cabo de Gata National Park.  But I'm sure you'll find plenty more if you do a bit of research.Two of those were ACSI and I think one was Camping Cheques, but off the top of my head I can't remember which.
