We are looking at the Dordogne for next year. Thinking of Les Peneryals or Moulin du Paulhiac. We have two girls (7,6) who like to bike round the site, can anyone tell me if these sites are flat enough to do that?

Moulin de Paulhiac is definitely fine for cycling around. It's very flat on site.  There's also a cycle route on the opposite side of the river that runs from Castelnaud to Daglan, on very minor roads.

I was just going to post a very similar question!! I had looked at the lovely Castels site until I realised that it was on top of a hill! Will be interested to see other answers!

Just back from les peneyrals ! Its a lovely site, would highly recommend it but dont think its that good for cycling around, its hilly, not many flat bits at all. We hired a bike for the children for an hour (they kept begging to !) but they both gave up after 20 mins . They are 5 and 7 though. There were a few children cycling around though but not that many .

Thanks for the replies. I love the look of les Peneryals, but the kids love going on their bikes all the time so it looks like it will be moulin de Paulhiac for us. Many thanks.

Have a look at Camping Le Paradis at St Leon sur Vezere, pretty flat and very easy for cycling. Lovely 5* site and they should have an indoor pool next year as well as the outdoor ones. Couple of photos attached, one looking from the river up towards reception which shows it is pretty flat and one of the pool area.

We met a family this year that had come from les peneyrals, they said the pool area was in need of repair, loose paving slabs, crazy paving etc.

I'd check it out thoroughly if taking smaller nippers.
