castell montgri is on the outskirts of Estarit. Its a large site popular with Dutch, Germans and the British. It has entertainment and also reputedly the largest swimming pool on the Costa Brava. Check out the web site. Not to everyone's cup of tea but great if you have children. Its about a 15 to 20 minute walk to the resort.
I can recommend Les Medes, Its a family run site with the family living on site. The facilities are 1st class. It is probably the most friendly site we have used in 35+ yrs camping/caravaning. If there ever any problems, the Pla Coll family will move mountains to sort them out!
we stayed at Castell Montgri last year and at first we weren't very impressed but it grew on us. The free bus into L'Estartit was a welcome change from me driving everywhere. We stayed at another site this year and really wished we'd stayed at Castell Mongri again

We stayed at camping l'Emporda which is opposite Castell Montgi ,
Small site with nice pool would thoroughly recommend it. Very reasonable rates as well.
Over the years ive stayed in quite a few in that area, probale favourite when in mid season would be castell montgri, lovely terracing that can give super sea views but it is hilly if you have mobility problems.
Must admit i have a soft spot myself for Estarit even if its a bit more commercial than most places i like.
My favourites in the Costa Brava are the wonderfully scenic Camping Treumal south of Palamos and Cala gogo. Both beautiful.
Another vote for camping les Medes. We stayed there in November and it has the best toilet block I have seen. In low season we have also stated at El delvin Verde which is a bit out of east artist, but has everything we needed on a campsite.
Hi
We have stayed at Camping Rifort its right on the roundabout on the edge of town. Small terraced friendly site 5 minutes walk from the beach and town centre, we call there every year on our travels around Costa Brava.
