Can second Bob's suggestion of Belchenblick. Staufen im Breisgau is a delightful little town. Don't know if its changed but they had a very strict 'quiet period' between about 12.30 and 3.00pm everyday (not unusual for German campsites) , although there is plenty of parking outside the gate.

I stayed at Seelbach between Lahr and Basel last year.I cant remember the name of the specific camp site, but the area is terrific and all the german sites i stayed on (i was away for 13 weeks)were of high quality and standard.the Black Forest is well worth a visit and the towns and villages are superb. You can get more info by looking up "Tourist -Info- Seelback "on a search engine.

Hope this helps and if i find the name of the site i,ll post it.

Further to my first mail. The site I used in the Black Forest was the Ferienparadies Schwarzwalder Hof in Seelbach.recently refurbished with traditional "ginger bread" type washrooms housing some really plush individual "family shower rooms" which put most English camp site facilities to shame. Most are heated/lit by solar power,so shower early!!! The site has a very well run and reasonable restaurant (housed again in traditional log cabin style) .An indoor swimming pool, and you can use the municipal one within walking distance. The on site shop was also a let down considering peak time, and the site didnt take credit cards. The town of Seelbach is about a Km away which had good shopping etc.Stayed in the last week of July and the only critisism is that at this time of year the pitches were a little too packed compared to English ones, but i would definately go back.

Hope this helps.

We've stayed at Camping Belchenblick a couple of times and found it very good. There's another excellent site about 3 miles further up the valley called Ferien-Campingplatz Munstertal, in the village of that name. It has a magnificent swimming pool.
