Bords de L'Eure is the one from where you can walk into the town.
We've used it a few times, but the last time put us off, as it had been raining and the pitches resembled a mud-bath, dreadful. Toilets/showers were in a disgraceful state and we left next morning (had wanted to stay a couple of nights to have another look at Chartres after doing that a number of years ago).

But then sometimes it can be ok, we were there in Sept and it was. Read the reviews, don't book, (you can't anyway), and don't have high expectations. The town is lovely, so it's well worth the visit.
Never had any cause to complain about Bords de L'Eure personally and we have stayed several times. Only thing is to arrive around 4pm or earlier in high season as it fills up.
The cathedral apart, we were a bit disappointed last time we visited Chartres - it looked in need of a good clean, not many people about and lots of empty shops and youths hanging around.

We found the same thing this year - almost exactly. Muddy pitches, showers and toilets smelly and lacking maintenance, with rotten wood frames and doors, and just generally down at heel. The manager was the most surly I've ever met in thirty three years of camping and caravanning holidays - but it is VERY handy for the city, and if you don't use the site facilities, and it's a dry night or two, you should be OK.
It takes an ACSI card which saves you a few euros per night.
There is a municipal site at Courville sur Eure - 7.50 euro per night for pitch, two adults, car and caravan, with electricity at 3.30 per night - but it doesn't take twin axles. About 20km from Chartres.
We stayed at the Huttopia at Senonches, which is a bit further away, but which we liked a lot. There are pitches in the meadow area, and then in the forest. Sanitary facilities are good, the restaurant overlooking the lake is lovely, and it's next to the municipal sports ground. The village is within walking distances, and there are a few pretty looking restaurants and shops.
We stayed here just for an overnight stop Camping Les llots de St Val at Villiers le Morhier, its not too far from Chartres but you do need your own transport.

I think the Bords de Eure site is so very conveniently placed as you can walk or cycle easily to the town centre, also to the supermarket. Every year we're not sure....and then every year we go back because we enjoy the situation.
As Chartres is usually our last night, we treat ourselves and stay in the Hotellerie St Yves, 50 yards from the Cathedral. Very reasonably priced and a lovely breakfast.
Stayed at the Bords DE l'Eure a couple of times and never had a problem. It's a good place for a stop off or a first night of the holiday ....a walk into the old city for a bite to eat.

We stayed at the Municipal site in Chartres a few years ago and cycled into the City to the Cathedral. It was busy but ok. Wouldn't really like to spend more than a couple of nights there and I can't speak for the state of the facilities as we didn't use them. Very handy for the supermarket though!
------------- Life's not a rehearsal..don't put it off DO IT NOW!
We have stayed at the site at Morenceau a few times, fine for an overnight and close to Ring-road round Chartres It doesn,t open until about the 21st May each year though so we only use it on way home in June.
