Hi, we are looking to take our first trip abroad with our caravan and would like to go to France next July. We looking for a site ideally near the beach, but must include swimming pools and or a water complex - our 9 year old son loves swimming and playing in the water! It would also be good if there are mtb tracks near by for myself. We do not mind traveling some way into France and would welcome any ideas.

How about heading towards the Alps? We went to Annecy last year and loved it ,lakeside beaches, great water sports and swimming loads of cycling and general outdoor pursuits and stunning scenery,we stayed at Camping Les Fontaines which had a nice little water complex with slides and a separate pool

June-Hurley Riverside Park
August-Camping Les Fontaines Annecy
Why not try Southern Brittany we have holidayed here many times a gem of a campsite is Camping du Letty, it has everything for a great family holiday - its own beach in fact you can even book beachside pitches, the pool complex is probably the best we have seen. you can walk into nearby town of Benodet. Look it up you won't be dissappointed

We have also been looking for somewhere similar, eg pool slides and ideally near a beach. Having done a few years at Las Dunas we quite like the South of France still, on the med coast So decided to have look at your suggestion Checkley1973 of Seringnan but am confused is this as according to UK campsites a naturist site or regular or both. Cant work it out?
Any other suggestions down this area all the way up to Italy gratefully received as we like the idea of the higher chance of sun down this way and feel you have to be near the coast to actually appreciate you have driven all the way through France
their is a naturist site next door, but book with Yelloh and you will be fine. We have young kids and it was not at all visible.
It really is a great site and only didn't go back this year because we've been there before and like to try new sites.
Another recommend if you don't fancy it is Camping les Tournels Ramatuelle, again a Yelloh site, very good and near beach rather than direct access you get with Serignan Plage
Thank you for your ideas.
I think the south of France is a bit too far for our first trip aboard with the van, so we will try the mid / west coast sites in French.
If any body else reads this thread, then please send us some more suggestions?
regards
mike
