We'll be camping in France for the first time and due to home location probably using the western ferry crossings to Roscoff or St Malo.

We would like to find 2 sites, and from my research so far thinking about one in southern Brittany and then another near St Malo.

We have 3 kids, 10, 7 and 4. One of our children has ASD. Because of this we'd prefer a smaller site if possible, or at least one that feels small.

We do want:
EHU
playground
a mix of nationalities
near to some sightseeing/places of interest
Other activities on/near site- mini golf, footie pitch
Quiet at night, find discos etc hard.

Would be very nice to have:
Swimming pool- a smallish one to keep an eye on them all as there's only 2 of us.

So far I was thinking about Camping Les Druides and Haliotis. Loved the look of Les Valades but just too far. HAve spent a long time searching tonight but would really appreciate reviews, thoughts, other ideas. Thank you.

Like you we are looking at camping in France next year first time for us we too are using the ferry crossing to st Malo so we too are looking at other ideas and thoughts on where to go and campsites. Brittany is a placed I've been reviewing very similar to our Cornwall lovely beaches and villages.Other regions not far from st Malo are the vendee region and dordogne region I think that's more in the country I think I will do sum more research   But it would be very nice to hear other people reviews and ideas Thanks.

We stayed at Camping Penboch near to the beautiful city of Vannes this summer.
Plenty of kids of all ages, but there never was any bother with them. Has a small football pitch and table tennis tables. The lights in this area are switched out at 11pm so the site is quiet after this time.
The pool area is good and not too big.
Is an easy drive from Roscoff.

Was actually going to suggest Les Druids before you mentioned it at the foot of your post.

Funny I thought of Les Druids as well. Handy to the lovely beaches of Carnac. Nice clean site surrounded by fields.Supermarket within walking distance.Lovely area to explore down to Quiberon and Gulf De Morbihan

Look at this one Camping Le Pont Laurin
St Briac sur Mer 10 miles from Dinard. Very small playground, walking distance to village with small supermarket, other usual shops and cafe right in the centre. Walking distance to 3 different beaches. walks from the campsite. Popular with french, dutch etc and not many brits. Our kids used to love it.

That's a good suggestion from peterholden - all around St Briac is great for children.

So is the walk out to the Ile Callot from Carantec when the tide is out, or a whole day picnic on the Ile de Batz- and the boat ride out there from Roscoff.

Best beaches? Well perhaps those down through the sand dunes, west of Crozon around the Pointe de Pen Hir, but there are so many more.

In fact whenever we go to Brittany we say ABC....Anywhere But Carnac. It' just such a honeypot and so over popular.

we enjoyed camping le tousse near St malo, quiet at night, large pitches, good play area predominately French clientele but usually a few Brit kids there aswell.

No swimming pool but 2/300 meters from a lovely beach which shelves gently and has life guards in season.Lovely area with beatiful coastline and cities near.

just a 2 hour drive from Roscof is our favourite area around la baie de la foret-towns & villages such as
Foeusnant
la foret fouesnant
concarneau
nevez/rospico
begmeil
capcoz
all stunning white sand beaches, turquoise water. A variety of sites to suit all tastes- our fav is Camping Kerroland in begmeil a small 2*, mainly French, no pool but with 5 or 6 beaches within walking distance not a prob!...I am sure you will all love it. happy planning

Thank you so much for all your help and suggestions- if only we had 8 weeks to fit them all in! I've been going round in circles a bit but have decided to venture a little further south to Les Valades and then probably move onto Val de Vie. Really looking forward to it now :)
