Hi All
I think we have narrowed it down the the Poitou-Charentes region, but am now looking for a medium sized site that we can take our own tent to and it must have a water park/slides for the kids. I have gone through the entire area on this sites search facility and narrowed it down, but wanted to know if there any suggestions from you guys.
We dont want a mega sized site or to be packed in like sardines. We had a great site last time in Brittany, but want something similar, but further south. The one we went to in Brittany was this one for a guide to size
We're going to La Pinede at La Palmyre this year...last year we went to Sequoia Parc, which was big, but very nice...but it was in the middle of nowhere and the mosquitoes were horrendous.
Thanks for the replies. I have read the reviews on Loree du Bois, and it sounds like noise is a bit of an issue and it gets very busy. That is a bit off putting. The beauty of where we went last years was the great swimming pool but the site in general was laid back and quiet.

We keep looking at L'Oree du Bois, but there is something that puts us off every time, can't put my finger on it.
For what it's worth Veema we visit the area regularly and have been into most of the sites for a wander and I would say that L'Orée du Bois is quite crowded high season and friends have said it's non too clean when it's full, but early July is better. Also La Pinede would be my choice if I were going for a water park. It too is crowded and has statics etc but it always seems a bit more laid back than L'Orée. All sites along the Route de la Fouasse get noise from Luna-Parc which they turn down a after 11pm generally but you can still hear it. Luna-Parc has never put us off though and we've been going since before Luna-Parc existed.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We stayed at Loree du bois in August 2010 and 2009 - we stayed on pitch 238 and couldnt fault that side of the side. The other side seemed busier and cramped. we really enjoyed our pitch and stayed on the same pitch 2 years running.
I personally didnt find it noisy and the toilet and shower block we used were brand new and exceptionally clean.
We spent 6 happy years going here while our son was growing up. The waterpark is excellent and the site has a family feel. People go back for years and years. It is run by 3 generations of the Boucher family.
There are excellent supermarkets etc in Poitiers and a small range of little local attractions like the Monkey Valley (Oh, and a big one called Futuroscope). There is some traffic noise late at night when the wind is in the wrong direction but I was the only one of us it ever woke and I'm a light sleeper.

Thanks for this. It looks ideal. Which area of the site would you recomend asking for when booking a pitch?
