My son worked at Bois de Valmarie for a season, for Canvas Holidays, about ten years ago, so I know the sort of site you want - he loved it there, and would love to go back but they don't offer camping pitches any longer. In my opinion Internacional is very similar, on a wooded hillside, so perhaps you might be right - a smaller tent! I'm sure there are larger pitches around the site, though, perhaps it's worth an email to the site to ask.

Well Val, campsite looks spot on so thought I would go into the booking process to check availability..... And gutted to see pitch size for family tent is only 75 sqm, although its up to 90 sqm for caravan or motor home
Id call them and tell then you have a very large tent and can they put you on one of the caravan pitches saves buying another tent. id be surprised if they didn't accommodate you.
as regards Aquarius yes its s deal breaker for us but the pools on the other sites are just pools and and not very big considering size of site eg Las Dunas where the pool was cold last year so may as well have been like Aquarius and not there.
happy hunting this weekend

Val, when I looked at Camping Internacional it did remind me of Bois De Valmarie which is why I got excited! We like the medium size of BDV, and although the statics are a bit squashed in and not much room for cars, the sloping site and the the layout means it has a lovely feel to it. The proximity to the beach also means that the fabulous pool area does have some slightly less busy times too.
We are actually going there again this year (third time) for our second week and to meetup with some friends .... we have talked about it so much that they want to see it for themselves!
Mark, I might try calling them, good idea, although I am not hopeful as I did read a review that said they would not accommodate tents on caravan pitches .... maybe the tent pitches are not accessible to caravans so they want to keep the caravan pitches just for that.... Who knows ! But def worth a phone call.
Last year we took 2 tents to France and did some overnighters in our B&B Icarus 500 .... Maybe we should book the site we really fancy, take both tents and pitch whichever fits !! It is only for 1 week and we do know that our tent is too big really for France /Spain as it is a waste of space when you spend most time outside ..... sounds like I am justifying a new tent purchase doesn't it?
Stopped there years ago when my boy was five. It was over run by Thompson 'al la carte' holiday makers and bus from Britain people on package holidays and we felt like we were intruding in someones back garden. Very much the underdog with the tent being allocated the scummy pitches, having said that there was plenty of entertainment, the pools were nice and the kids loved it. Never been back but doubt it will have changed.
------------- No trailer, no topbox, no towbar, no big car - just us and a little 1.2 Fox. xxx happy camping

I have had a complete change of heart because I couldnt find a site that felt right for us with pitch size for our stupidly big tent..... so we are now going to the Ardeche for a little bit more of France... for now
You'll love the Ardeche - or we did, and still do. We'll be back there in May! Our son, who was the courier at Bois de Valmarie, is taking his fiancée, and they're using our caravan whilst we're in Croatia!
