Hi All

After the great help on my last post for a site for the first leg, I am hoping you can help with the second leg of our holiday.
We are looking for a campsite that has accomodation that can sleep 2 x families of 4 under one roof. We have found one, but they are fully booked on the dates we are looking for.
We are looking for...
Champage region
A pool(s) with slides
Medium sized site
A chalet/gite/cottage on site that can sleep 4 adults and 4 kids
Any suggestions?

Cheers
Steve

Lifestyle Holidays, at La Croix du Vieux Pont (not actually in Champagne/Ardennes but just a bit further north into Picardy) have some options, for eight people - is this the one you'd looked at already?  They have three types of mobile home which sleep up to eight.  Otherwise I doubt you'll find that size of accommodation easily - most mobiles/chalets only sleep up to six - and generally even those are cramped.  Generally they offer a double bedroom, a bunk bedroom and two adults sleeping on the beds made up from the seating in the living accommodation.

All the others I've looked at have only accommodation for six people - Lac d'Orient, Lac de Liez, and Lac de Bouzey - which are all sites in the Champagne/Ardennes region, with pools and slides.

La Croix du Vieux Pont was the one that I had found but is fully booked for the dates we are going.

It is difficult to get accomodation on a campsite that sleeps 4 adults and 4 kids. It is looking increasing likely that we will end up in two statics at this rate.

cheers
Steve

I found this one, on a campsite, searching for accommodation sleeping eight - Mobile Home Lac du Der but no swimming pool, unfortunately

Looking at my favourite French small adverts website, Le Bon Coin, and searching under 'Location de Vacances' in the Champagne/Ardennes region,  for accommodation with a capacity of eight brings up a few other reasonably priced gites and other sorts of accommodation, including a boat on the canal at Epernay, which sleeps ten, and has a Jacuzzi!  There are a few with swimming pools, and one alongside the Lake at Langres (holiday lake with attractions).  There's a rather nice looking one, 500 metres from a lake, for just 400 euros a week in peak season!

Any particular reason why it has to be Champagne/Ardennes - and how long do you want the accommodation for?  I found a very French villa in Paris, with a pool for 1400 euros a week, which sleeps eight.

We are looking for this region because it is the second leg of the holiday that ends up with us getting the ferry from zebrugger to hull. So we did not want to be too far south. The first leg is going to be further south.
We did consider a gite, but you dont get the facilities/entertainment of a camp site

cheers
Steve
