Can anybody recommend a quiet camp site in France within 5 hours of Calais. Preferably with no pool and possibly caravan storage. Or am I just asking too much?

Theres a huge amount of quiet sites within 5hrs of Calais but it you want to site a caravan there permanently it will have to be the right one for you. The countryside an hour of so inland from Calais is nice enough but even that is a big area & all you will get from this thread is a list of sites. Also many French sites only open May to early Sept, others have longer seasons so that may restrict your choice.
Your best bet is to do one or more day trips, Dover-Calais, easily doable from where you live & have a drive around & look for yourself. Its only about £20 odd return for a day trip so thats your best bet. Small & cheap rural sites often do not have websites but will be signposted in the local area so you have to drive around & find them. These sort of sites usually have a fair few permanetly sited 'vans owned mainly as weekend retreats by people from local towns so will have a very 'French' atmosphere.

What about Le Picard - in Normandy, so just within your distance, does caravan storage, and is run by an English couple - making it very easy for you! You could take advantage of the £20 offer to go and have a look. It's near the Normandy beaches, Bayeux, and Mont St Michel - so plenty to keep you occupied too.
Even better than that, it's open all year round AND is advertising caravans for sale!
Use the campsite search tab above and search for "Le Serpolin"
The pool is just a plunge pool and is some distance from the 10 van site pitches. Very quiet family (Brit) run site with storage.

Saumur is just a hop away from Clere where le Serpolin is located.
Ok more than 5 hrs, but reachable in a reasonable time from the coast and pretty much ticks the boxes and weather south of the Loire is much better than the Normandy/ Brittany areas.
We are taking the advice and booking a long weekend in France (in B&B unfortunately as we don't have a van yet)early in the year to have a good scout around.
We know a really quiet site but its a few more hours from Calais.....Le premier pres, Savigny les Beaune.
Try looking in 'Cool Camping, France'.
