We are embarking in our first overseas trip this year and have managed to get return ferry to and from Amsterdam with car, caravan and bikes for £412. We are now looking to book a week in a quiet site and a week at Duinrell. Anyone got any advice on the best deals for tourers? As it's our first time abroad with our own caravan any other hints and tips would be appreciated too.
Thanks :D

Loads of campsites in Holland, most to a good standard & none particularly cheap. They are all well signposted & apart from large family sites like Duinrell you don't need to book in July. Obviously cheaper ones will be rural with no pool. Some very nice rural sites in Holland & also look out for campsites ajacent to the larger cities if you want to visit there, Gaasper camping at Amsterdam for example.
Restuarants are generally expensive but supermarket food is quite cheap. No big ones like Tesco though, mostly small/med size in towns, you have large chains like Albert Heijn, Aldi etc. Big campsites & fuel services generally take UK credit/debit cards but supermkts/shops genwerally don't, so have enough cash. You usually have to pay for parking in towns & seafronts/lakes so keep some change.

Thanks Jack and John. Great advice. We're glad we booked ferry to get a cheap deal and have a good few months to investigate all the other bits and bobs.

Duinrell have got offers on Tiki Bad (pool) at the moment - 3 hours free .... this is a very good add on - expires 31/01 .... We've been 5 times .... I'd recommend a pitch in Romantisch kamp
Great, I spotted that deal online. Think we'll look at booking this week. We'll also look out for the pitches you've recommended. Is that a quieter area?
