Hi
Looking to visit the Trieste area in May and have found this site, Mare Pineta Baia Sistiana. It is an ACSI site but I cannot find any reviews in English, can anyone help, or give a recommendation for anywhere else in the area. Also do you think it advisable to book for the last two weekends in May.
Thanks.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
If you install the Google Translate button in your browser you should get a reasonable translation of any reviews not in English, at least enough to get an idea.
I actually work for camping Mare Pineta in Italy so Im just the right person to help you! The campsite is 4 star and is realy well run, with a great swimming pool and truly amazing views over the bay of Sistiana and the Gulf of Trieste. Our group (Campiente) owns 16 campsites and Mare Pineta is really one of the most beautiful.
Also it is perfect for camper/caravan holidays due to its position: just 12km from the Slovenian border, just 25km from Grado and Aquileia and with 2 amazing castles either side (Miramare and Duino), plus Trieste of course...!
We are currently loading a bunch of local info online on our Campiente website, it should be online early next week - take a look if you like, it may help you choose! If you need any more info let me know but for me it is one the Adriatic's less cluttered and busy sites and has a really nice feel to it.
Thank you very much Mick (and everyone else) for all the above. As our plans are flexible we would prefer not to book ahead, do you think this would be a problem.
Regards.
No problem! In this period there are some big Italian Holidays (both the 25th April and 1st May are bank holidays) but you should be absolutely fine as there are many free pitches available. The best pitches are nearer the swimming pool so ask for these as you get a partial sea view and they are really central.
For driving down we also have great sites as stop - overs... I dont like publicising the Campiente website in general but we have sites on Lake Garda and in Austria which are perfect for breaking up the journey.
Have fun, I hope you enjoy Mare Pineta!
