As Val said. There didn't seem to be distinct mobile and tent zones. It's not a very large site so you shouldn't be too far away if you can't get close. If you want a slower pace than Paris for a day there's a nice town very near by called Saint-Germain-en-Laye. From the palace grounds (free to walk around) there's a good view of paris.The town also has a good selection of restaurants and cafes. Anything from a Subway & Starbucks to tiny deli's with a couple of tables.
