Hi .. Am sure someone can answer this query.. We stayed at camping Aquarius last year and remember driving past several other sites on the same road?? Las Dunas being one of them but not open til mid May.
As we like this area but not particularly Aquarius again..we were wondering if anyone can tell us what the name of the other sites son this road are please?
Also thinking about Camping L'Amfora in early May....any thoughts.. Also Salata if anyone has any thoughts?
We have a caravan, no pets,
Thank you!

We have stayed at L'Amfora, it has excellent facilities and a decent sized supermarket on site. Some pitches have individual mini toilet blocks. One end of the site is right on the beach.
Las Dunas has excellent facilities but is very large ok off season when its a little quieter. The disco is soundproofed but can be noisy as it finishes and people leavein the early hours of the morning . HAVE A PITCH AWAY FROM THE DISCO! that said we have not visited for 5 years.
La Ballena Alegre is next door to, and very similar to, Las Dunas. The individual plots between the camp's main drive and the beach have all been increased in size within the last couple of years, and separated with hedges, but unfortunately, the plots between the camp's through drive and the main road haven't, and have very little in the way of separation, so everyone appears to be very crammed-in during peak season.
We haven't actually stayed in it, but occasionally walk through it in the evening when we are 'vanning in Las Dunas.

We've been to Las Dunas for the last 3 years and love it. Every year we have gone for the last two weeks of August and yes, it is busy the first week, but can honestly say it has never been a problem. We've never had to queue for a shower and they are some of the cleanest toilet/shower blocks I have encountered in our years of camping (possibly the biggest shower cubicles too).
The campsite supermarket is good, as is the takeaway. If you have little ones the kids entertainment is excellent too. I can honestly say I have never heard any noise from the disco at all, although we do always have a pitch that is a fair way from the bar/supermarket as it's nice and peaceful and you don't get people walking back from the entertainment walking past your pitch late at night.
We can't go there this year as we're saving for a silver wedding holiday next year and the kids (15, 15 & 20) have got the hump.
If you do decide on Las Dunas and want to see some pics of pitches etc, let me know, as I have lots of them xx
We have stayed for three years at Camping Salata and really enjoyed, however it can be a bit dusty and I would advice taking groundsheets. The main thing going for this site is the location. You are about two hundred yards from the prom and beach with all the facilities of the resort, and a lovely walk into Roses itself. If you have bikes you can cycle across the nature reserve to Empuriabrava. We felt this was like having a holiday in a excellent resort but still in the caravan. The other sites above are quite isolated and you only have the facilities of the site itself which may suit some people.
Las Dunas is a great site despite its size though if you are using it as the pool is anywhere on your top 5 or 6 on your priorities list then its a No, Its small and cold for a campsite of this size. You have the beach of course and as the owners also own the Waterpark about 10 miles away maybe there is underlying method in the madness We have stayed there 4 years running and for all said above its great friendly site well secured no real disco noise great facilities opt for pitches say K 30s plus or L 30s plus and you wont even get lots of traffic on the roads while children playing and not blasted by sand every night of the beach.
