Hi,
I've just joined and would be really grateful for some advice and recommendations for campsites in Brittany. We have 2 children 5 and 2 years old. We were camping last year in Devon in our own tent but this year my parents are coming too so we think hiring a mobile home might be better for space. I would If anyone can recommend a small to medium site that has rentals or private rentals.
Thanks in advance

The campsite search would indeed be the place to start, and once you start to like the look of a site based on its reviews you could then perhaps check out their website - mobiles owned by small to medium sized sites should be better value than going via the Eurocamp/Canvas route. Reviews are obviously subjective but you can usually suss out the ones you can trust, where they focus on the things on a trip that are important to you.
There are lots of suitable sites reviewed here but a couple worth a mention - Camping Les Druids in Carnac is a lovely, not mad busy and popular with young families. Camping La Vallee at Erquy about 30 miles west of St Malo is another great spot and again doesn't try to compete with the big holiday park type sites.

Carnac really is a fantastic seaside town, with gorgeous beaches, lovely bistros and a good selection of campsites. Please see my profile for several in that area, all of which do static hire.
It may be worth having a look at rentatent.nl or selectcamp who tend to be cheaper than our tour operators in the main school holidays.

Thank you for your advice. There are so many fab campsites here that its very difficult to decide which is best!! I'll check out the sites suggested and the websites too.
Have a look at camping du quinquis. We have a mobile there although don't let ours out there are quite a few that do or you can hire directly from the site.
We are big fans of camping des plages de beg leguer (albeit with our touring caravan)just to the west of Lannion on the north Brittany coast (website campingdesplages.com)
We go there every year but in June or September when it is very quiet. So, it may not be suitable at that time for your little ones as there will probably not be any other playmates for them. However, there is an excellent children's playground, a lovely swimming pool complex and very nice mobile homes. This is a wonderful area for site-seeing (the Pink Granite coast).
The owner is a charming Frenchman who speaks excellent English and ensures his site is beautifully kept. In our view, one of the very best campsites in France.

Stayed last year with Grandaughter and family using the Flower camp sites all were very good value for money and not too Butlin's abroad. RCN (a Dutch firm do nice rentals too)with very large pitches.
We used the tent but family hired a mobile home. Les Druids at Carnac has a good mix of both too.
Hope this helps.

Another vote for La Vallee at Erquy. It's a small, terraced site with what looked like lovely mobile homes. There's no pool but the beach is amazing & within walking distance. It seemed perfect for small children - a proper international gang of small people having fun when we were there.
