Hi all
Just booked a week at Koningshof in May, never been to Holland before, going via Calias would like some knowledge of the site and places to visit nearby

Thanks

Peter

We stayed here in a static back in the 80s so can't comment on what the site is currently like,

From here we visited
Keukenoff
Delft
The Hague
Volendam
Windmills at Kinderdijk
Alkmaar
IJsselmeer
Amsterdam

Hope that gives some ideas.

We spent a week there last May. (see review on Camp Site search). We liked it, except that the ground was quite boggy in some places, but it had been raining quite heavily. We were given some maps of the local area with our welcome pack and reception had loads of leaflets for days out. Helen's ideas above are good ones. Depending on when in May you are going, Keukenoff may be closed (21st May last year) but there were still lots of flower fields blooming in the area.

We have stayed there a couple of times. It has good facilities including an indoor pool. The layout of the pitching areas can make it feel a bit tight. There are lots of places to visit within 20 miles of the site and the coast is only a couple of miles away. Amsterdam is a bit further but the site often organise a coach trip.

David

I would visit Haarlem and find the little shop selling frites- De Haerlemsche Vlaamse.

Further afield, we also enjoyed the Zuiderzee museum at Enkhuisen.
