Just for interest I looked at prices for the period May 9 -May 19( 10 nights) at Camping La Chapelle, Argeles sur mer

ACSI(2406)
€19 per night for 10 nights = €190 =    £215 approx

EuroCamp Independent
10 nights                                    £375

If you wish, I will do it for you at 10% less than Eurocamp

please explain this?

are you a booking agent?

If you wish, I will do it for you at 10% less than Eurocamp

where do you get your Eurocamp prices from?

do these prices apply at peak season EG uk school holidays?

does this include the ferry?

are these serviced pitches? €19 sounds very reasonable. i will be paying about £75/night even where i have booked independedntly.

La Chapelle website price for 2persons+electric for May is 27€ pn. But stay 15nts or more give 30% discount so give same price as ACSI for same off peak period. You will often find this. Long stay off peak discount on campsite is much the same as ACSI price so value of ACSI card is probably for those that have done the maths & have specific sites in mind.

Eurocamp Independant price for 2persons+electric for 15nts in May at same campsite is £32pn. This is touring pitch price not ready erected or mobile home prices that are booked with Eurocamp.

SG is not a booking agent.

All prices exclude cost of travel

Obviously in high season the ACSI rates do not apply.

If lots of people are willing to pay me lots of money for using a campsite's online booking form, then I will become a booking agent

i guess that since i have school age kids the ASCI discount doesnt really apply to me.

we are staying at a Yelloh! village site for part of our holiday in august.

looking at their tarrif i could save £100 if i booked directly with Yelloh!.

i am not sure how accurate the Eurocamp independent prices are on their website because when you come to book they also add on various supliments.

but remember the ferries (that i am using) are several hundred chaper.

the pricing is really wierd though. for example my return journy (roscoff-plymouth) for both caravan and car is itemized as only £75.

but my outward portsmouth to caen, overnight, is itemized as just under £400.

whan i asked why they said the caravan was free on the return and the 75 was a supliment above a base price in the accommodation cost, which is similar to the acommodation cost according to their website.

when i have looked at britany ferries directly the cost for the ferry is way more than £475.

Yes. Suggestion would always be to do the maths & calculate how overall best price can be arrived to suit the individual.

This resurrected post, brought back a few memories for me.

Back in the day, early 1970's we booked with Eurosite, they even had a showroom in Rawtenstall were you could go and view the tents!

It was quite funny when we arrived at Camping du Pylon, at Biot near Antibes, we were there the only Eurosite clients that had driven to the campsite.

All the rest had arrived on the coach, which I think back then did the run from Boulogne to the Med in one hit!

Worked out great for us, as I became the resident taxi driver for a fortnight!

things you do, when you are young beautiful and stupid.

Sadly I am now just stupid!

I love this post! Made me smile.
