Les Epinettes at Peuplingues.
I have used this campsite a few times. About 8 miles from Calais ferry and closer to the tunnel. Just off the A16 motorway. I use Junction 39, about half a mile down to Peuplingues. Then turn left and the site is about half a mile on the left. Good roads when towing.
I have only seen a warden/owner once so I put money in an envelope in the reception letter box. 14 euros (£11.75)Last week.
They are good at answering emails.

You could also think about Camping Les Erables as a plan B, at Ecalles which is just a little further on from Peuplingues. We like Epinettes its a fairly small site with limited touring pitches.
We are also looking to book at stopover near to the tunnel. I like the look of Les Epinettes. does anyone know if you can arrive late around 9pm - is there a locked gate and how do you get a shower token. We will need to leave not later than 9am for our tunnel booking.
We are also considering the site at Guines - any help would be most appreciated.
Thanks
Sue

Les Epinettes
The gate seems to be open all the time. I have never seen it shut, 3 visits. We left at 5.30am for ferry home two Sundays ago, no warden /owner in sight, gate open. Can't even remember a gate? We took our car to Auchan Superstore for diesel 127.9 euros(£1.05) a litre and got back about 8pm. Facilities were clean and always open when we were there. The price was 13 euros 2 years ago. I put 15 euros through the reception letter box not 14 as I said above, no change just notes left. Did not try showers but there was someone in a shower at 5.30am!
