For anyone planning to spend time in/around St Valery sur Somme or Le Crotoy this summer, a warning that parking EVERYWHERE (and I mean everywhere) is charged for. There are meters even on the roughest grass verges, and I'm sorry to say that it meant the town lost two visitors who were planning to stop for a meal. We went on somewhere else, where we didn't have to pay. It's one of the few places that we've experienced such measures, and fortunately everywhere else we've visited this holiday parking has been free of charge.

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I cycled to St Vallerie sur Somme some years ago and liked it enough to go back.
I particularly liked the sea food counters along by the harbour where prawns and shellfish were laid out like sweets in Woolworths ready for you to pick and mix.
If you can find the Moulerie it is well worth a visit for a better class of mussels and chips.
The old World War One narrow gauge steam railway is here and I guess they are expecting a lot of visitors for WW1 centenary events. "In railway sidings the poppies entwine. round cattle tracks waiting in line for the next time", I wish I'd photographed them when I was there.
