Thank you very much for the heads up in these places, I think we will wait until we are touring in the proposed motor home in a few years time to do the Picos justice.
Thanks again

------------- Retired and living the dream touring Europe
hi we are travelling down to argeles sur mer. This will be our first time thisfar south as the past couple of years we've been to the vendee area, cant wait were all so excited and looking forward to the drive from calais as we will get to see lots
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Hi Chezza23 you certainly will see lots. I love the change of landscape once you get south towards Spain, it's a brilliant drive, I love it! And Argeles is fab too with lots going on in the surrounding area. Make sure you visit Collier just down the coast, it's beautiful. If you walk to the port you can get a boat ride there. Takes about 10/15 mins and as you come into Collier it blows you away. I'd live there tomorrow! Have fun
Thanks, were planning going Orleans, Limoges, Narbonne down there then come back via Millau, Clermont Ferrand back so we get to see different stuff. Collier is definately on my to do list and we will go by boat, i love seafood so really looking forward to it as ive heard lots of people talk about lovely places to eat
I have fond memories of Argelès and Collioure as I went there on a school trip aged 17, and loved it, first time away without my folks! I stayed at Camping Le Soleil, looked at reviews and it seems it's huge now compared to when I was there, but that was 1988.
It is a busy, but beautiful bit of coastline. A strong wind, great if you like any kind of water sports.
We are off to La Garangeoire, Vendee in August this year. Kids are desperate to go back to Puy Du Fou.
We like it because it's a four hour drive after getting off the Portsmouth-Caen ferry. Going overnight so will be there by lunchtime! Have driven far down the west cost before (almost to Biarritz!) and it was just too much for the kids, even with an overnight stop.
We get ferry from Hull to Zeebrugge on 30th July and then drive down to Provence. Not taking the caravan this year and staying in an old Olive Mill in a provencal village. Daughter coming with us in car and son and his Girlfriend flying out for a week. Really looking forward to it.
We are here now in Burgundy and loving it. The weather is fantastic, the cycling is fantastic and the food is fantastic, we have 5 sites in 2.4 weeks and moving tomorrow. we are back on 1st July for about 7 weeks then away again on 28th Aug to who knows, for 3 weks, we fancy Le Teday at lacanau then Carcasonne then Dordogne (again) but may change, that's the beauty of touring. Happy holidays to all those yet to go. J xxxx
