Yes, we do!  We store it near Chateauroux, in a secure barn, with a British owner, and can access it any time we want to.  It costs us £200 a year, and the insurance is the same as it would be at home.  We did store further south near St Pons de Thomieres, but found that involved two overnight stops and they were less flexible about pick up times which had to be during working hours.

Now, in central France, we can get down to it with a very early morning ferry, and get back home after dropping it off, without having to add in extra hotel nights unless we actually want to - like we did this year because it was so hot!

We found when we stored further south that the additional costs of the hotels, meals en-route, etc., made it very much more expensive.

You have to be very organised in terms of packing, taking things home to wash, etc.  Last year we brought the caravan home for some work doing (it could have been done there, but we left it too late to contact the service engineer).  As a result we were a bit disorganised and forgot things - for instance bags to bring our clothes back home, so the return journey was a bit chaotic as we checked into the hotel with a beach bag and a rucksack!

Next year we're considering a seasonal pitch - with an option to take the caravan off elsewhere if we feel like it, then just five months in storage over the winter.

Kelper stores his camper for even less, I think near Angers, and then there are others who have their caravan stored on sites, and brought out on to a pitch when they want to use it.
