Think I'd avoid Rouen like the plague at the moment....! We're going over on the 27th too - 7.30 from Dover so at Calais quite a bit after you lockie. I've spent hours looking at the options, and we'll definitely be going via Yvetot and across the Pont de Brotonne.

You might be okay - hopefully not too many 'heavies' about on the road being a Sunday..... whichever way you go, have a good trip.

I've made the decision to go via Rouen now. I'm looking at it as a fact finding mission for the ukcs members 😄.

I will update you once I'm set up on site with a vino or beer on hand.

I am travelling down on the 1st Aug and expect to be in the Rouen area around 10pm to midnight.
Not sure what route to take to be honest as i expect it will be quiet on the roads.
I think i will just take that northern route via Yvetot as its only a few miles more and pretty much guaranteed to be dead.

Just had a look at the map and fancy using the D929 exit J11 A28 as far as Totes then following the N27/A151 until it joins the A150 to cross the Seine at "pont Gustove Flaubert" Then following the N338 around the west side of Rouen then hooking up with the A13 until the exit for Evruex for onward travel to the Dordogne. Does anyone know of any issues we may have using this route as avoiding the A28 roadworks in Rouen.

Garbold,

That is the route we are going to take, we will get to Rouen on the 8th which is when the tunnel is due to open. So may be able to use the tunnel.

Hi, just wondering what wrong with A29-A151-A150-N338 going down to Le Mans? I'm travelling on the 27th (Sunday) about 10am time. We did Vals route last year and it was a peach.

Captainevo,

We are travelling on the 8th also but on time restraint so will not risk getting stuck on our normal route via the D6015.Obviously the roadworks may run over hence the alternate route.
