This will be our first camping trip to Normandy and we are just looking for some tips and helps. We've camped in the UK and Ireland before, so we are not complete newbies.

1. Heat! we are of course expecting heat! we have a 2008 Montana 6 and I'm wondering if anyone has tried the new Roof Protectors? Will they keep the tent significantly cooler?
Size? these Roof Protectors are for the newer model, has anyone tried to fit to the 2008 Montana?

2. Our kids 13yrs 11yrs would like a site with a pool, possibly some slides and flumes maybe? Any recommendations?

3. Any other tips or helps, or recommended sites appreciated?

We are currently sitting in the ferry terminal going to Cherbourg. Not expecting heat though. 22 at the highest.
The site we are going to is only 15 km from the port, has a flume, indoor and outdoor pool and a beach. Bit out of the way though.

Hiya 😄 we went to Anse du brick last year with 2 and 7 yo x we loved it as it was very relaxed and pretty x staff helpful too x and we had nice weather there x it was during the hot spell we had x going bit further this year to another castels x chateau lez eaux 😄 this time x hope u have a fab time anyway 😉

If you want to go just over into Brittany, big site and without being rude you do get the sun vouchers people staying here, so not everyone's cup of tea.

Graeme just bear in mind that Normandy has similar weather patterns to much of south of UK. It is also a very green and pleasant area of France and areas only stay green because of one thing !

Not said to put you off but many think as soon as they cross the channel they will be in Med type temperatures and wall to wall sunshine (wasn't sure if your heat comment was in jest or not!)

If weather is really important top you you may need look a lot further south or possibly west coast for more sunshine and warmer average temps

Normandy and Brittany have a lot to offer for holidays and many wonderful places to go and see but do be realistic about weather (especially Normandy)

good luck with your planning - there are a HUGE number of different campsites in France as you will find out!

Well, we are back and got heat. Only two nights of rain. Unfortunatley the second night was before we left so drying the tent out again.
The locals did say that the chances of good unbroken weather are slim but judging by the parched surroundings, Normandy has had a good spell of sunshine.
L'Anse du Brick was excellent, by the way.
