hi there, hope this helps..

French roads are kept in good condition due to the vast amount of tolls in the country. There are regular service stations on the main roads.

French Parking and Resting Zones:
If you are in need of a break whilst driving on French motorways, you will find places to stop at regular intervals along your route (usually every 10/20km apart).

Parking in French Towns and Cities:
Parking is in general forbidden in the centre of most major French cities. In French towns it is possible to park, in a 'Zone Bleu' for which you will need a windscreen sticker which can be bought from the local tobacconist or garage.

If you breakdown on French roads:
If you breakdown on a French road you should pull over on the right (if possible), turn on your hazard warning lights, and put your red warning triangle behind your vehicle to warn other drivers.

Electronic Display Panels:
Display panels give road and traffic updates, you will usually see them about 2 kilometres before an exit.

Requirements

Minimum driving age:
The minimum driving age in France is 18yrs with a Full UK License. Drivers who have passed their test within two years are restricted to speeds below 110kph on motorways, 100kph on urban motorways and 80kph outside built up areas.

Essential equipment for your car:
You must carry a warning triangle, spare light bulbs, flash light and a first aid box. Also recommended are spare fuses and a fan belt.

Children in the front seat:
Minimum age 10 years (except babies, up to 9 months, in a rear-facing child seat).

Seatbelts:
Compulsory in front and rear seats.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
