We're visiting the Black Forest (Germany) in August in our folding camper and I wondered whether anyone had any recommendations for camp sites? We have two young children so a camp site with a swimming pool would be good. Thanks.

camping Munstertal, indoor and outdoor pool. Train station right outside site for use of free transport within the black forest. Reviewed on here. Here

Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder
Not sure what availability will be like for next month though there
We didn't have a huge choice of pitch when we booked earlier this year for August - lots and lots of returnees each year apparently (which says it all for me!)
They reply in English via email no problem so worth a try
Stay over 10 nights and you get a discount as well
Can't wait - good luck with your search!

Yeah, good point - when we went 2 years ago, we just managed to get the last full-service pitches and we booked in Feb
You really need to book campsites if going in school holidays, unless you're not fussy about the site or pitch location on it (the ones next to the bins are often available )...sad but true.

Agree Nelmo - we always do in August as we usually currently go to spots where lots of other people like to go with kids and I also like to get choice of pitch if possible once I've done some research
We didn't go for a comfort pitch in end (they are all full service I believe apart from internet connection on comfort?) as wanted to be on same side of site as play area etc so we are along side where ponies are
Was yours and Madasaman reviews and comments that helped decide thanks
There was no pool on site, but several within easy walking distance, and if I remember correctly, there was reduced entrance prices if you were staying on the camp site.
Regards,
Jim.

Sorry saftlad only just seen your reply (don't like fact you can't subscribe to posts on this forum).
May come and find you for some tips as we overlap by about 3/4 days before you leave! We will be on L11 over near entrance to playpark area (loook out for the Adria and grey Kampa awning)
Really hoping we don't regret not going for a comfort pitch like you have!
