There are often communal barbecue areas, on paved surfaces, with a fire extinguisher. You can use those - sometimes these are just large paved tables where you can place your own barbecue, sometimes they are a brick built large barbecue.
A gas stove will be OK provided you take sensible precautions against setting the undergrowth alight. If you look at some of the devastating photographs of forest fires you will see what damage they can do, and why sites in hot areas are keen to protect against them.
