Hi has anyone stayed at Calais port? Our ferry won't be getting into Calais till about 9.30 ish and the site we are staying at is two hours away, and will be closed at 8.30. I was told from cc that you can stay there over night!

Pamela, Emmitdb posted the following in your other post - which was in a different 'thead':
Hi Pamela,
Unless things have changed (and someone will tell us both if I'm wrong,) the Car Park at Calais signposted for those 'Sans Billet' (without tickets) is still open. Leave the Port after getting off the ship and immediately turn off the road, around the roundabout and back into the Port signed for the above. Although alterations have been made over the years there is, or was, a huge space at the entrance to the car park immediately before the respective ferry operators have their offices. There's a bonus as well because the Port Police Station is just on the other side of the fence from the car park and as a result of the local gendarmerie going in and out all night long, there is little chance of ne'er do wells disturbing your nights sleep. On the other hand, Jacques who has the job of shuffling the containers about, sometimes makes a din but he has yet to wake us up! Enjoy.
When we knew we would arrive late, we phoned the site, and they arranged for the security patrol to let us in, and show us to an overnight pitching area, then in the morning we found a 'permanent' pitch elsewhere in the site.

I've already phoned the site something like Authie it called, and they said it would be 11.45 when we would get there, and I wouldn't be able to get in the site, I know there is one half and hour from Calais, but it would be quarter past ten by the time we would get there! Only other option is to stay over at the port !
We arrive of the tunnel in France at 3 in the morning, having travelled down from Doncaster after work. We were going to stop at Citie Europe in the motorhome aire for a few hours. Did think of stopping in the euro tunnel car park but wasn't sure whether that was allowed on the French side. At least there is The supermarket so you can get fresh bread in the morning.
It's either that or stop at the windmill (as the kids call it) aire which we have done before, but that's going down the wrong motorway.
You must mean Val d'Authie. I don't know whether they've an area for overnighting. The nearby site, Ferme de Aulnes, has a separate area from the main site, and I'm sure a late arrival there would be tolerated.
You could go along to the Aire de la Baie de Somme, and then double back on yourselves in the morning. There's a good space there for caravans, and lots of people overnight there. It's a very pleasant 'site' in itself, with canals full of carp, a bird-spotting tower, and nice service buildings.

Yes that's the one Val! Hope it's ok, I don't know anyone who has been there yet! No they don't have an overnight area, but they did say I can go there as early as 8 am. Seems Calais port sounds ok to us for the night.
We stopped at Val d authie this year Pam, teh site is really nice. There are a lot of statics and some touring pitches are amongst them. There are a row of just tourers at the rear of the site facing onto fields , this is where we ere, think it was pitch 80 something . The people on the site ere really helpful ( I mucked up our booking and had to change the dates) . Restaurant was lovely and the three shower blocks were spotless. I'd do the Baie de la Somme overnight and then just double back it snot that far out if your way . Point to note if your driving in the local town Rue ....they still hve the priority from the right rule for drivers , which thankfully seems to have disappeared in most if France now, but here they have it , and they stick to it , so take care .

We stayed late at night once in a Calais car park with the gypsies - just drove around the town to find where they were parked that year - and pulled in behind them for a few hours. Their dogs kept the migrants away.
