Well....
In the past we have just turned up at chateau du gandspette on spec and managed to get a pitch for the night. I decide to be (reasonably) prepared thanks to 3 letting me use my UK phone internet allowance abroad. So I've been emailing sites in advance. Gandspette say they are completely full for tomorrow night.....And so are La Bien Assise (I can accept they being full though.)
Do I just turn up at Gandspette and deny it was me emailing in advance?
Any more bright ideas?

Does it have to be one of those two sites? Try clicking Campsite search here and call up the map of all sites within 20 miles of Calais. About 20 of them I guess, many of them with reviews. Perhaps phone some others instead of e.mail to get quicker responses. Good hunting.
No it doesn't have to be those two- I was hoping for a pool for the kids for the last night of the hols.
I am looking at different sites and will probably end up trying my luck there. I was just surprised to be turned down by gandspette.... everybody must be more organised than me and booking the stopover sites these days!
We use camping Pommiers des 3 pays in Licques it's about 20-30 minutes from the tunnel. It has a new pool area and has a small family run restaurant which serves fantastic food. We normally just turn up, and have been the last couple of years on route home.
