Sooooo looks like ten days In the south of france next year in our pathfinder! Looking to see all the usual sites as in Monaco etc but also have a nice site that's good for the English and close to the beach with swimming pool etc for our kids and maybe bit of entertainment. Anyone have any recommendations? And also best time of year for weather? Was thinking May or July? Thanking you :-)

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

I'm bringing this post back to the top as it's gone over the page.  I think this is perhaps because people are too polite to reply and say 'Monaco is a long way to drive in a ten day holiday'.   Driving down will take at least two of those days, and coming back the same - leaving just six days on site.  Setting up and taking down will take up one of those days, and you  have to ask yourself if it's worth the cost of the ferry, the toll costs, (€106,90 euros for a car - your pathfinder won't be an additional cost if it's under 2 metres in height) and the fuel for what mounts to a very short holiday.  I would try to get more holiday, by adding a weekend at each end, and perhaps tagging on to a bank holiday or stay in one of the many lovely areas of France which are much nearer to the channel ports.   If you can go at the end of August, too, then campsite costs can be a lot less.

There is another post on this section at the moment with someone else asking for advice, and it might help to read that as the advice would be similar, I'm sure.

If you want easy access to the beach just 500 yards away, and want to be within easy reach of Monaco, Nice, Antibes and Cannes, have a look at Camping de Logis la Brague.

I first went there as a toddler, with my parents back in 1962 and have been back there many times since, even our Son now 29 went there on his own back in 2009.

These days we prefer the quiet life, so go further along the coast to Frejus, which was suprisingly quiet for the middle two weeks of July this year.

Train station, directly across the road from the campsite, great if you like trains. unfortunatley they no longer do the "Carte Issabelle" which was like a day rover ticket for the train, just 12€ and it lasted 24 hours, and anyone could buy it.

Now they have introduced the ZOO Card, still like a day rover at just 15€ but you have to provide photos for the card, which takes them a day to sort out, so best to get that sorted on your first day.

Even though these photos were taken second week in July just gone, the was not crazy busy.

Tarrifs reasonable for the area.

If you missing your English, don't worry La Brague can help!
