After three weeks in France, we're now half way through our three in Spain.
What a difference in prices!
OK ... so no Municipal type fees ... but not unreasonable ... in a nice site at present at 22 euros a day ...
BUT ...
Lunch to-day ... three sets of tapas: Gamba croquettes; Octopus and sautee potato; Calamares ... plus a beer for me and a still Fanta Lemon for Mrs ... total cost: 4 euros ... 2 euros each ... and it was all delicious!
Shpped for two days of meals ... steaks, chicken, loads of veg and salad and fruit ... 9.60 ...
Might move here!
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Right that's enough of that, too much bragging is bad for our health.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I must admit we really enjoyed our time in Spain again this year, and found some lovely food, even in the small supermarket near the site we were on!
We also liked the fact that a very helpful Spaniard lent us his loyalty card from the supermarket, so that we got a discount on our fuel!
Whereabouts are you Kelper? We may be in Spain again in late August/September if the poor French weather continues.
For those who holiday outside peak season there are 42 sites in Spain which take the ACSI Card at the 12 euros per night rate - and of course that's for the usual pitch, two adults, car and caravan (or tent or motorhome), awning and electricity.
We have been in Segovia, Madrid and currently in the Sierra de Francia ... about 70 kms south of Salamanca.
Lovely undiscovered area with medieval villages that seem caught in a time warp ... good walking ... spanish oak everywhere ... friendly people ...
Heading up to the north coast on Saturday .... Ferry from Gijon on Tuesday, then home.
The weather has been wonderful throughout the Spanish section of the hols .... wall to wall sun, and forecast to continue ... France (Eymet) wasn't bad ... some heavy deluges, but the sun still shone every day ... so we've had it pretty lucky compared to some.
It is our first time in Spain. Who knew it was such good value compared to France!! We have done La Franca on the north coast, then Potes and the fab Picos and are now back on the coast near Gijon before travelling up through France next week. The weather is a bit variable, with some great storms, even hail in Potes, but we are having a great time!
