I've been looking at the ardeche for next year, glad you got the sun
Forecast had 2 of our 14 days here as not being great, on the days themselves we managed time at the pool (and we only pool if it's sunny!) on both, and our hoodies and cardies never left our bags. It's been lovely, which is good as france was definitely on its final warning as far as we were concerned!
Just the long drive home now....Full review of campsite when we get back.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
No sadder way to travel than having the sun on the back window.
IF the weather reports from the met stations are accurate the few extra hours you drove to get beyond the Dordogne were sssssooooo well worthwhile.

In Reims now for our overnighter, it's grey and gloomy. Was really warm until Dijon, then clouded up quickly. Lyon was hideous today, a car had broken down on the bend before the tunnel so queues were long and bad tempered. Home in time for tea tomorrow.
We're sitting in the (still) sunny Ardeche region - high temperatures, blue skies again and at 9.30 it's still warm enough to sit outside, with a clear starry night sky overhead!

Beautiful cloudless skies here at Villardonnel near Carcassonne. Arrived yesterday after a very easy drive down (even the A86 in Paris on Friday 11am was quiet).
Wouldn't have wanted to be driving back this weekend though judging by the volume of traffic coming towards us

We had the sun in our back window when we travelled and this made us extremely happy because we were heading north up to the Scottish Highlands where it was sunny every day for our two week holiday
Not sad at all

The weather has really perked up down south, it wasnt that great last week, but now Carcassonne is baking. Typically I am back in wet Bristol
Really hope it lasts! We going down to Port Grimaud in ten days. We has poor weather in May in Argeles so really need some warmth!
We are just back from 3weeks in Northern France, weather more showery than we usually expect in August, but overall plenty of sun between the showers, and noticeably mild temps. At home, my pots and tubs seem to have had plenty of water whilst we have been away, and the pond is full!!
just back from the Gorges Du Verdon and Frejus. Sun shone everyday of the two weeks we were away. Cool at night up in the mountains at Castellane (lovely little town and area fantastic) but mid 20's in the day. Had much warmer weather and warm evenings/nights the 2nd week in Frejus. We really missed sitting out the 1st week but it was too chilly.
Loved both areas and will go back soon.
We flew this year and hired a car and mobiles with Roan. Didnt miss the drive at all.
