I know this had probably been asked so many times, but looking for a site for a 2 night stay, as close to Calais as possible, I have been recommended La Bien Assise site, but just wondered if there are any nearer to Calais centre itself.
Thanks in advance.

I am not sure if there is a closer site but Calais centre can get very busy and is not the best place to tow.
La Bien Assise is a good, clean site with large pitches. That too gets busy with overnighters so if you haven't booked it is best to arrive fairly early in the day.

The nearest site I know is Camping Fort Lapin at Bleriot Plage, Sangatte. It's some time since we were there so I can't give you an up to date report but there are several recent reviews if you go to Camp Site Search at the top of the page and put in the name.
It's a couple of miles from the ferry port, on the sea front, with miles and miles of beach just over the sand dunes. It never was the smartest site in the world but it's practical, respectable and convenient. I'll let you read the reviews.
Bramston typed quicker than I could !

We've just had 3 nights at Les Epinettes. A lovely well maintained site. For tourer, 2 adults and 3 children it was 20 euro per night. 5 mins drive to Cité l'Europe and the tunnel terminal. Would definitely recommend to anyone!!
We stopped at Epinettes for our last night for a change, as we had an early ferry on Sunday morning.
Less than 24 euros for 4 adults and dog, although you have to buy tokens if you want a shower.
Handy for a dog friendly bit of beach.
Very quiet and pleasant although slightly marred for us by idiot who left at 6ish, got stuck because they swung onto the grassy bit of the pitch next door, revved up, got in and out of car, argued, and finally managed to drive off by over-revving their engine, spattering our car and van with mud in the process!
