We would love to tow our boat with us to France next year. Does anyone know of a campsite where they have boat launch facilities, or public launch facilities close by? Either coastal, large lake or even river. Southern Brittany, Vendee, Loire, Haute Charente, Charente Maritime are the favourite areas.
Needs to be on the campsite itself or very close by. Oh and the stretch of water must allow power vessels as its a small motor boat.

Pam, you asked about taking and using a motor boat in France, and the answer depends on the power of the motor - above a certain limit you need licences and permits. Things like jet skis are above that limit, and need those licences, yours may be below. But as ever Google will give you answers on that.
But since you mention southern Brittany you might look at sites on sheltered waters on river estuaries there - Camping le Patis at La Roche Bernard is an example that might suit you.

I think, depending on the size of the MB (as Berriow says) you can tour the Marais Poitevin (Venise Verte) ... the municipakl campsite at Arcais has a boat launch on its door step ... reviewed on here.
lovely, thanks all. Although it is powerful, we have the RYA qualifications which are accepted in France. However we plan to use it just to putter slowly, taking the dogs and a picnic etc. I think the Marais Poitevin may not allow us on though at all. La Roche Bernard is somewhere we like the look of . It may not be worth it cost wise though and cheaper to hire one for a couple of days.

Lots of places to launch on the Ile de Crozon, with great hidden beaches and coves to explore. We stayed at camping le Panoramic. Huge pitches and a launch ramp just down the hill. Quiet site, but has all you need.
Dunno anything about boats, but have seen them launched from this campsite. The Guardian (A self proclaimed title) used to be a bloke dressed in all white, strange fellow, very polite in a Teutonic kind of way. It is a nice site, good chance you will be the only ones there if you go now.
