It is just too easy to get it wrong!!! We've decided it's back to French classes for us.
We were on a totally French site, and you realise just how inadequate your French is for 'conversation' rather than just asking for a pitch, a jeton for the washing or where the nearest supermarket is. The site owner/manager spoke absolutely no French, nor did his wife. Fortunately one French motorhomer staying there spoke enough English to translate so we had the most amazing multiple-way conversations, using him as a translator! Thank you Jacques!
We had a 'menu' mix up, when we thought we'd ordered steaks, and ended up with steak hache. The site owner, after many apologies, cooked us a steak to share between us, gave us a bottle of wine, and didn't charge us for either! But the steak haches were delicious, and home-made anyway, and we'd have been more than happy to just have them!!
We're going back next year!!
